There is, many would hold, a large individuality to the Irish psyche, Sigmund Freud himself said that the Irish were impossible to psychoanalyse. FilmableJam is sure-fire proof that this unique style that has led to so many Irish artists to become famous can be transcribed to new media. There is something warm about his videos; they are sincere, yet at the same time relaxed in that Irish way. It feels almost like he is inviting you into his house and chatting to you over a cup of tea.
Yes, some of you may be saying that I am just biased towards a fellow Irishman, but I whole heartedly disagree, there are a large number of vloggers, from the kingpins who are totally active like the Vlgobrothers themselves to the zaniness of Charlieissocoollike or the sarcasm of Nerimon. However FilmableJam actually manages to do something this writer would not expect, he brings something new.
Sure you may call his vlogs more of the same, say that they are just an intermediate style, but I would stand up strongly and disagree, this YouTuber has managed to turn his vlogs into that cup of tea and a story feeling. I watch most of my YouTube either late at night or early in morning and the refreshing nature of these vlogs seem welcoming at those times.
This article isn’t meaning to say, however, that he is part of that long-dead Irish image that is sometimes still held as true, he is, in all aspects a modern vlogger, he manages to encapsulates what Ireland has been attempting to do for years, he moves to the future, while keeping the better parts of the past. And if that isn’t something that would drive you towards his blog, perhaps his brilliant video topics will, because he chooses them very well, merging heavy thinking with relaxation into something that almost feels like lounging of the mind.
